The Elks will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast fundraiser benefiting Leslie’s Community Garden on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the Elks Lodge in Silverthorne. The breakfast fare goes beyond the standard pancakes and eggs.
Silent auction proceeds and proceeds from the event will help offset costs of purchasing and installing a community information board in the garden.
Join HC3 at HighSide Brewery on Earth Day – Monday, April 22 at 5PM to party for the planet! We’ll be on-site to share brews and conversations about community climate goals, new recycling efforts and more.
HighSide, located at 720 Main St. in Frisco, Colo., will offer a free drink that evening to anyone who makes a $10 donation to HC3. Expect giveaways, stickers and like-minded neighbors who care about stopping climate change.
On April 24, head to the south parking lot at CMC’s Breckenridge campus to check out some of the electric vehicles that cruise around Summit County’s roads (including a Proterra bus) and chat with the locals that drive them!

This event is hosted jointly by HC3, the Town of Breckenridge, and the Headwaters Group of the Sierra Club.
Join Leslie’s Garden for a presentation on plant propagation. This event is for everyone, whether you are a novice gardener or a seasoned veteran, all are welcome. The event will run for one hour, we hope to see you there!
Want to get a jump start on the gardening season? Join us as HC3 gardener Susie Nothnagel instructs you on the basics of high altitude vegetable gardening. This free workshop is geared towards new gardeners who want to learn the foundation of what grows well in our climate and how to get started.
- Can I bring old motor oil and antifreeze to the event?
No. These items are not accepted at the event, however they, along with all HHW, are accepted year-round free from residents year-round at the SCRAP.
- Can we bring a lot of TVs to the event?
No. Commercial loads are not accepted at the event, however the SCRAP can handle this type of request during regular business hours. Contact them at 970-468-9263 for details.
- Do you take florescent tubes and CFLs?
Not at the event. These items are accepted year-round free from residents at the SCRAP.
- What’s the best way for me to package my old pesticides and cleaners?
Please keep it in the original container and ensure it is tightly sealed. If the original container is damaged, you can seal it in a bucket.
The event is held in conjunction with Town Cleanup Day, which is traditionally celebrated in Blue River, Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, and Silverthorne. Help clean up your community and wrap up the day with a community picnic. HC3 will be at the Breckenridge Town Cleanup picnic to answer your conservation questions and give away LED bulbs. Bring us an old incandescent or CFL bulb and we’ll give you two LEDs.

If you are a plot holder or someone interested in signing up for a plot at Leslie’s Garden, then please join us on Saturday, June 1 from 10 am – 12 pm for an orientation and planting session at Leslie’s Community Garden in Dillon.
We will have a meet and greet from 10 am – 10:30 am followed by the orientation from 10:30 am – 11 am. After that, there will be a planting session for those who are interested and some time to mingle from 11 am – 12 pm.
