GREEN BUILDING

The Summit Green Building Project (SGBP) is committed to raising awareness of green or efficient building practices in our area.  Currently the most prominent program of Summit Green Building Project is the Speakers’ Series.  Check back often for the addition of other SGBP programs and for details on upcoming Speakers’ Series.

Speakers’ Series

Come and join us for an enlightening presentation from industry experts on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.  The subject matter varies from month to month and our audience continues to grow steadily.

The best way to stay informed about upcoming speakers is to join our monthly SGBP email newsletter list.  Send an email to us at recycle@colorado.net to receive the newsletter.

Upcoming Speaker Series:

During the summer months we put a hold on the speaker series and tour local and regional green buildings and construction sites.  Due to the ever changing construction and vacation schedule of our mountain community, we don’t schedule too far in advance.  Please contact us at 668-5703 for info on the next open house or better yet, sign up for our monthly SGBP e-newsletter by sending us an e-mail to recycle@colorado.net

Efficient Building Code Working Group

The Summit Green Building Project has organized a working group of local governmental officials and members of the building community, which meets monthly to discuss ideas, share research and resources and assist in development of appropriate strategies for each municipality to address efficient building.  This is an informal group; it sets no official policy, but is hopefully an incubator that allows town and county representatives to stay in touch, learn about pertinent issues and how they have been addressed in other situations.
