waste reduction

The Frisco Recycling Center is located at the County Commons, across from the Animal Shelter.  The Breckenridge Recycling Center is located on County Rd 450 (French Creek).  Both locations are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.  The Dillon recycling trailer can be found in the Dillon Town Hall parking lot most days.

A sorting guide for the Dillon, Frisco and Breckenridge centers is available here

For answers to your recycling questions, please contact High Country Conservation Center (HC3) at 668-5703.

Some recyclables are accepted at the Summit County Waste Facility (landfill), such as appliances and wood waste (check our sorting guide for details).  The landfill is located two miles north of Keystone, less than a quarter mile north of Highway 6 on Landfill Road. They are open weekdays 7:00am - 4:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am – noon.  Closed Sundays.  There are intermittent closures due to weather, therefore we recommend contacting them before making the drive 468-9263.

Currently Summit County Recycling does not offer curbside collections of recyclables.  There are several private recycling collection services available to residents and businesses in Summit County though. Please call them directly for estimates and rates.
