The future of food showing and discussion
Wednesday, February 24, 2010 - Alpine Earth Center - 6pm
Grant Family Farms and the High Country Conservation Center have teamed up for movies and small discussions that focus on the local and sustainable food movement. Our host, the Alpine Earth Center (formerly Alpine Gardens located at 998 Blue River Parkway in Silverthorne) will show the Future of Food. The Future of Food offers an in-depth investigation into the truth behind the unlabeled, patented, genetically engineered foods that have quietly filled U.S. grocery store shelves for the past decade. The film gives a voice to farmers whose lives and livelihoods have been negatively impacted by this new technology. It explores alternatives to large-scale industrial agriculture, placing organic and sustainable agriculture as real solutions to the farm crisis today. The Future of Food reveals that there is a revolution going on in the farm fields and on the dinner tables of America, a revolution that is transforming the very nature of the food we eat. Join us for movie night and open discussion! Suggested donation $5. Call 668-5703 for more details.
