Backyard Composting in the Mountains Workshop
Rescheduled for Thursday, July 22nd, 5:30 - 7 pm at HC3
Compost is one of best natural soil amendments on the planet for our local soils. Learn about simple ways to create less waste right in your own backyard! Compost experts will teach you the basics of backyard composting for high altitude and cold weather climates. Find out which recipes work, how to select the right bin and location, the secrets of conveniently collect food scraps in your kitchen, good ways to turn and mix compost, and how to harvest. This workshop will be held at HC3's office on 518 Main Street in Frisco on Thursday, July 22nd, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Suggested donation: $10. Keystone Bluegrass and Beer Festival - Volunteers Needed!
Volunteer Shifts Available for Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1 (11:30am to 5:30pm)
The High Country Conservation Center is this year's beneficiary for the 14th annual Bluegrass and Beer Festival. HC3's goal of reducing waste and conserving resources is an ambitious one that requires lots of resources for new programs.
One simple way you can help us reach our goals is to volunteer at the Bluegrass & Beer Festival on July 31st or August 1st. HC3 will receive a large donation in exchange for providing event volunteer coordination. Shifts include ID checkers, information booth, kids crafts, and assisting beer vendors. Each shift will vary between two and three hours. All volunteers will receive free admission, a beer ticket, and a t-shirt. Join us for great bluegrass music and a great time!
