Funded by Summit County ballot measure 1A, this FREE electronic and household hazardous waste collection event will take place on May 20th, Town Clean Up Day. Bring household hazardous waste*, outdated, unwanted, and used electronics to be properly recycled by our partners Electronic Recycling International and Veolia. Open to all Summit County residents. No commercial waste will be accepted. Location: Summit Stage Bus Barn in Frisco.
*Town of Frisco will be collecting clean textiles in any condition at their Town Clean Up Day on Saturday, June 4th and will have bins onsite during the volunteer check in and the volunteer appreciation BBQ on Frisco Main Street. They will be bringing collected textiles to Denver to USAGAIN.
Accepted household hazardous waste items include:
Paints, stains, pesticides, fertilizer, cleansers, solvents, adhesives, mercury thermostats & switches. Materials must be in their original containers and/or clearly labeled.
Household hazardous waste items NOT ACCEPTED at this event, but accepted onsite at the SCRAP, include:
Antifreeze, fluorescent bulbs, gasoline, kerosene, batteries & motor oil.
Items not accepted at the SCRAP or the event include:
Explosives, ammunition, infectious waste, propane tanks and radioactive materials.
Electronics items accepted at the event include:
Computers, monitors, printers, audio equipment, TVs and tablets.
Accepted pharmaceutical items include:
Prescription medications, Over-the-counter medications, Medication samples, Vitamins, Prescribed narcotics, Medicated lotions and ointments, Inhalers, Liquid medications in leak-proof containers and unopened transdermal skin patches.
Pharmaceutical items not accepted include:
Needles, lancets, thermometers, infectious waste, personal care products, medical marijuana, business waste and aerosol cans.
