UPDATE May 18, 2017: Due to weather, Town Clean Up Day events will be canceled in Breckenridge, Dillon & silverthorne. If community members still would like to pick up trash please pick up supplies M-F at the locations below. Trash will need to be places on the side of the road by Saturday, May 27th to be picked up by town crews. Town of Frisco will be rescheduling for June 4th.
Breckenridge: PW Admin Office – 1095 Airport Rd., Breckenridge
Dillon: Dillon Town hall at 275 Lake Dillon Drive
Silverthorne: Silverthorne Recreation Center, 430 Rainbow Dr.
As the snow receeds, a season’s worth of lost mittens, dented cans, abandoned dog poop bags and other misplaced treasures have revealed themselves, making spring cleaning a necessity. The Towns of Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco and Silverthorne are calling all volunteers to help Summit County prepare for summer with the annual countywide Town Clean Up Day, on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Volunteer check in will be at 9:00 am in each town.
- Breckenridge: Volunteers are asked to meet at Carter Park (new location)
- Frisco: Volunteers will meet at the Frisco Historic Park
- Dillon: Town Hall will serve as the volunteer check-in location and kickoff for Dillon’s Arbor Day celebrations
- Silverthorne: the day will begin at Rainbow Park.
During check-in, volunteers will receive trash bags, gloves, area assignments, coffee and morning treats. Volunteers may also pick a favorite area they feel needs their attention, rather than receiving an assigned area. After a morning of spring cleaning, volunteers will be be rewarded for their efforts with a zero waste “thank you” picnic at noon at each towns’ check-in location.
